This quick guide shows how to wire the Acura ILX T-Style Android CarPlay Radio using the included adapter harness. No cutting or splicing—just match the OEM plugs to the labeled sockets.
What You Need
- Plastic trim tool & Phillips screwdriver
- Your Android head unit, adapter harness & CANBUS decoder (included)
- Optional: electrical tape/zip ties for tidy cable management
Step 1 — Remove the OEM Head Unit
- Use a trim tool to lift the surrounding panels.
- Unscrew the OEM unit and pull it forward gently.
- Unplug the factory connectors from the back.
Step 2 — Match the Four Connectors
- 1. Power & Speaker — main power/ground/speakers (largest plug).
- 2. CANBUS (Protocol) — communication for steering wheel keys, climate data, factory amp.
- 3. AUX Sound — OEM auxiliary audio input.
- 4. Radio Antenna — FM/AM signal.
Step 3 — Plug Everything In
- Power & Speaker (1): OEM large plug → harness female → harness male → Android unit’s main power/speaker port.
- CANBUS (2): OEM plug → harness → CANBUS decoder box → Android unit CAN input.
- AUX Sound (3): OEM AUX plug → harness → Android unit AUX input (if used).
- Radio Antenna (4): OEM antenna → antenna adapter → Android unit antenna socket.
Step 4 — Test Before Reassembly
- Unit powers on and plays audio from speakers
- Steering-wheel buttons work
- Radio receives stations clearly
- AUX (if used) has sound
- Reverse camera shows image (connect yellow RCA to CAM/REVERSE IN if equipped; reverse trigger via CAN or reverse light)
Step 5 — Reinstall & Enjoy
Secure the head unit, reinstall screws and trim, and you’re done.
