Many Murano owners try to install a new head unit themselves, only to damage the AC vents or lose steering wheel button functions. Here’s a safe, step-by-step guide to protect your dashboard and keep your features.

Step 1: Tools & Resources You’ll Need

  • Plastic trim removal tools (to avoid scratches)

  • Torx screwdriver

  • 2014 AV wiring diagram (from the FSM)

  • Your new head unit’s wiring diagram

Step 2: Panel Removal Tips
Start from both sides of the AC vent, using a plastic pry tool. If a clip feels stuck, gently warm the area to make the plastic more flexible before prying.

Step 3: Keep All Functions Intact
Always connect the correct CANBUS module during installation—this ensures your steering wheel controls and climate display/adjustment remain fully functional. Without the right CANBUS, your AC interface may disappear.

Step 4: BOSE Compatibility Check
Before final installation, confirm your unit supports the fixed pre-amp output needed by the BOSE amp. If not, add a high-to-low converter rated for your wattage.
