Step 1 — Remove the Factory Head Unit

Use a plastic trim tool to safely pry open the dashboard bezel.

Unscrew the mounting bolts and carefully slide out the factory head unit.

Disconnect all the factory plugs and keep them accessible for wiring.
Step 2 — Connect to the Factory Harness
For Type 3, the harness configuration is slightly different but follows the same logic:

Main Power Harness → supplies power and connects to factory wires.

AC/Climate Control Cable → retains the A/C display and climate buttons.

CAN/Protocol Plug → essential for steering wheel buttons and data.

AUX Cable → sends audio to the Bose amplifier.
-
Reverse Trigger Wire → connects to reverse light for camera signal.
-
Illumination/Key Wire → required for dash lighting sync (if applicable).
👉 Ensure every connector is locked in place and matches the diagram.
Step 3 — Plug All Cables into the Android Head Unit
Connect all ports before switching on:

Main Power Harness

GPS Antenna (mount near windshield or A-pillar)

4G/LTE Antenna (if supported by your unit)

Wi-Fi Antenna (external if included)

Rearview Camera Jack (video input)

CANBUS Decoder & CAN Plug

RCA Inputs/Outputs (external amp, subwoofer, cameras)

USB Ports (CarPlay dongle, DVR, flash drive)

External Microphone (mounted near driver’s seat)

AUX Line to Bose Amplifier

Additional Ports (if model supports DVR, TPMS, 360 camera)
⚡ Important: Always power on and test all functions before reassembling the dashboard.
Step 4 — Troubleshooting Checklist

No Sound? AUX cable or amp input not connected.

AC Panel Dead? Check AC cable and CAN decoder.

Buttons Not Working? Verify CAN plug and select correct protocol.

Unit Won’t Power On? Inspect main harness and ACC power.

No Reverse Camera? Confirm rearview video jack and trigger wire.

Dash Lights Not Syncing? Check illumination/key wire connection.

Weak GPS/4G? Relocate antennas away from metal and interference.
