Upgrading a Toyota Land Cruiser LC200 to a 17.1-inch Android screen is a major dashboard change.
Before ordering, there are really only three questions that matter:
Here are the answers.
1. Will the 17.1" Android Screen Fit My LC200?
The Roadnavier 17.1-inch Android head unit is designed for Toyota Land Cruiser 200 / LC200 models from 2007–2020, including both left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive vehicles.
However, LC200 dashboards are not all the same.
For installation, there are two important dashboard configurations to identify.
2007–2015: Pre-Facelift / Low-Spec Dashboard
This version has the earlier center-dashboard layout.
The factory screen/head unit, side trim, air vents and climate-control area are removed before installing the replacement assembly.
2016–2020: Facelift / High-Spec Dashboard
Later LC200 models use a different dashboard structure and therefore a different removal procedure.
The upper trim, air vents, factory display, side panels and original CD/head-unit components are removed before installing the new system.
2. What Factory Functions Will I Keep?
This is a complete head-unit replacement.
The original factory head unit is removed, but the new system uses vehicle-specific wiring and CANBUS integration to retain supported factory functions.
Depending on what your LC200 was originally equipped with, supported functions include:
- Steering wheel controls
- Front dual-zone climate control
- Rear independent climate control, where equipped
- Factory JBL amplified audio
- Factory reverse camera
- Factory 360° camera, where equipped
- TPMS information
- Door and vehicle information
- Supported factory off-road information
The exact retained functions depend on the equipment originally fitted to your vehicle.
3. Can My Installer Handle the Installation?
For an experienced car-audio installer, the installation is straightforward once the correct LC200 configuration has been identified.
The system uses a vehicle-specific plug-and-play harness and CANBUS decoder. No factory wire cutting is required for a standard installation.
The installer does, however, need to remove the original dashboard components correctly.
2007–2015 Installation
The earlier dashboard requires removal of the side trim panels, AC vents, mounting bolts, upper dashboard cover, factory screen assembly and climate-control panel.
The OBD connection is made under the steering column before the new wiring is connected.
2016–2020 Installation
The later dashboard follows a different sequence.
The installer removes the upper panel and AC vents first, followed by the factory display, side trim, storage section and original CD/head-unit components.
