Installation Process
01

Dashboard Disassembly — Remove the Factory Trim Panel

Start at the top edge of the passenger-side dash trim. Insert your plastic pry tool into the gap between the trim panel and the dashboard surround, then work along the edge to release the tension clips one by one. Apply firm, steady pressure — avoid yanking, which can crack the clip housings or scratch the surrounding trim.

Once all clips are released, pull the panel forward to detach it. Set it aside on a soft cloth to avoid scratching the surface.

💡 Tip There are typically 6–8 clips along the perimeter. Work slowly from one corner — once the first 2–3 release, the rest follow easily.

Component Migration — Vents, Screws & Ambient Light Transfer

With the original panel off, locate the ambient light harness connector and unplug it carefully. Next, remove the mounting screws securing the internal bracket — keep these in a small tray, as they will be reused on the new unit.

Transfer the original air vent inserts into the corresponding slots on the Roadnavier panel. These are friction-fit and should snap in firmly.

⚠ Critical Step — Ambient Light Transfer The factory Tank 300 ambient light strips must be desoldered from the original panel PCB and resoldered onto the Roadnavier unit's matching solder pads. This keeps your ambient lighting fully synced with the vehicle's mood lighting system. Take a photo of the original wiring orientation before desoldering.

✓ Result After this step, your Roadnavier unit has the factory air vents and ambient light strips installed. It now physically mirrors the original panel — and will control lighting exactly as the factory intended.

Wiring, Mounting & Final Fitment

Route the Roadnavier power harness through the existing cable channel toward the driver-side fuse box. Connect to the appropriate 12V switched power source — the included harness is pre-pinned for Tank 300 factory connectors, so no wire cutting is required for the signal lines.

Reconnect the ambient light harness plug to the unit's connector. Carefully align the Roadnavier panel with the dashboard recess, ensuring the vent openings line up with the HVAC outlets behind the dash, then press firmly and evenly until all clips engage with an audible click.

Secure all remaining screws, power the vehicle back on, and test the screen — verify display output, ambient lighting sync, and CarPlay/Android Auto pairing before final trim closure.

✓ Installation Complete The Roadnavier passenger screen should now sit flush with the surrounding dashboard trim, with ambient lighting active and the display showing the Android 13 home screen. Pair via wireless CarPlay or connect to your car's WiFi hotspot to activate internet.
Installation FAQs
Do I need to solder anything to install the Tank 300 passenger screen?

Yes — one step requires soldering. The factory ambient light strips need to be desoldered from the original trim panel and resoldered onto the Roadnavier unit. This preserves the OEM ambient lighting sync. If you're not comfortable with a soldering iron, a local car audio shop can complete this step in under 30 minutes.

Will removing the original trim panel damage the dashboard or void the car warranty?

No permanent damage is done — the trim panel is held by plastic tension clips and can be reinstalled. The installation is fully reversible. However, as with any aftermarket accessory, check your local warranty terms. The process involves no cutting of factory wiring.

Does the ambient lighting still work after installation?

Yes — as long as you transfer and resolder the factory ambient light strips to the Roadnavier unit during Step 2. The unit is designed with matching solder pads specifically for this. When done correctly, ambient lighting syncs with the vehicle's interior lighting system exactly as factory.

How does the screen get internet after installation — does it need a SIM?

Two options: (1) Connect to your Tank 300's built-in WiFi hotspot via the screen's WiFi settings — free if your car already has a data plan. (2) Use the built-in eSIM — every Roadnavier Tank 300 unit ships with 10 GB of free eSIM data pre-loaded. When that runs out, scan the on-screen QR code to top up.

Is this installation suitable for right-hand drive Tank 300 vehicles?

Yes. Roadnavier supplies a dedicated RHD version of the passenger screen in gloss black trim. The installation process is identical to the LHD version — same clip locations, same harness connectors, same ambient light transfer procedure. Select your drive side at checkout.

What if I get stuck during installation — is there support available?

Yes. We send a full step-by-step video installation guide via WhatsApp with every order. Our technical support team is available on WhatsApp (+8618033084278) and email (info@roadnavier.com) to walk you through any step in real time.
