Denza B5/B8 Passenger Screen: Features, Audio Options, OTA Updates & Safety Explained

Denza B5/B8 Passenger Screen: Features, Audio Options, OTA Updates & Safety Explained

The Roadnavier Android-based passenger entertainment screen is explicitly engineered for Denza B5 and B8 (Leopard 5 / Leopard 8) export-market vehicles, operating as a completely independent, non-CAN-bus system that safely bypasses OEM OTA update interferences.

Denza B5/B8 Passenger Screen: Features, Audio Options, OTA Updates & Safety Explained

When Denza B5 and B8 owners discuss upgrading their vehicles, one question comes up again and again:

"What exactly can the passenger screen do, and will it affect my original vehicle system?"

We understand these concerns.

A passenger screen is not just about adding another display. It needs to work properly with the vehicle, maintain the original driving experience, and provide real value for passengers.

This article explains how the Denza B5/B8 passenger screen works, what features it offers, and what owners should know before purchasing.

Why Did We Develop a Passenger Screen for Denza B5/B8?

When Fangchengbao (Denza) vehicles started entering international markets, we noticed that some features available on Chinese-market vehicles were removed or disabled for export versions.

One of the most noticeable differences was the passenger entertainment screen.

The same situation happened with vehicles exported to some Middle East markets, where dealers also showed interest in restoring this missing feature.

Because there are currently no factory right-hand-drive Denza vehicles available in mainland China, developing a right-hand-drive version required additional testing and adjustment.

We created early 3D prototypes, worked with vehicle owners for real-world testing, and continued improving the design based on actual installation feedback.

Thanks to support from the Denza community, including owners who provided original vehicle parts and vehicle data, we were able to complete successful B5 and B8 prototypes.

What Can the Denza Passenger Screen Do?

The passenger screen is a completely independent Android entertainment system integrated into the dashboard.

It works similarly to an Android tablet built into your vehicle.

Entertainment Features

Passengers can enjoy:

Denza Passenger Screen User Interface Media Apps
Denza Passenger Screen Android App Store Dashboard
  • YouTube
  • Netflix
  • Spotify
  • Disney+
  • Games
  • Web browsing
  • Other Android apps from Google Play Store

The main purpose is simple: Give passengers their own entertainment space without affecting the driver's display.

For long-distance trips, family travel, or keeping passengers entertained, the passenger screen provides a more comfortable experience.

Apple CarPlay & Android Auto Support

The passenger screen also supports:

  • Wireless Apple CarPlay
  • Android Auto

This allows passengers to access compatible phone applications directly through the screen.

Built-in 4G eSIM Connectivity

The screen supports online connectivity through a built-in 4G eSIM.

Each unit includes:

10GB complimentary data

After the included data is used, users can scan the QR code to purchase additional data from their local carrier.

This means passengers don't always need to rely on a phone hotspot.

How Does Audio Work?

There are two audio options.

Option 1: Bluetooth Headphones (Recommended)

Passengers can connect Bluetooth headphones and enjoy:

  • Movies
  • Music
  • Games

without disturbing the driver.

Option 2: Vehicle Speakers

The passenger screen can output audio through the original vehicle Bluetooth system.

However, please note:

When using the vehicle speakers for passenger screen audio, the original multimedia system will not play separate audio at the same time. This is a limitation caused by the original vehicle audio architecture.

Will a Future Denza OTA Update Affect the Passenger Screen?

This is one of the most common questions we receive.

The answer is:

No, the two systems operate independently.

The passenger screen does not replace or modify the original Denza infotainment system.

Instead, it runs as a separate Android system with:

  • Independent hardware
  • Independent software
  • Independent firmware updates

Think of it as two systems working side by side.

Your original Denza system continues operating exactly as designed by the manufacturer.

Future Denza OTA updates will update the factory system, while passenger screen updates will be handled separately.

Does It Work Like the Original Center Screen?

Not exactly.

The passenger screen is designed as an entertainment display, not a replacement for the factory center screen.

The original screen continues handling vehicle-related functions.

The passenger screen focuses on:

  • Entertainment
  • Connectivity
  • Personal media

This separation is intentional because it reduces compatibility issues and protects the original vehicle system.

Passenger Airbag Safety Concern

Some owners have asked whether the passenger screen affects the passenger airbag.

The passenger airbag deploys from the top area of the dashboard, while the passenger screen mounting position is on the side area of the dashboard.

The design does not block the airbag deployment path.

Safety and compatibility have been considered throughout the development process.

Current Development Status

The Denza B5/B8 passenger screen is currently moving from prototype testing toward production preparation.

Before investing in production tooling, we are collecting feedback from Denza owners to understand:

  • Market demand
