Nissan Maxima A35 Factory Head Unit Type 3 Wiring Guide
This guide covers the Type 3 factory head unit configuration for the Nissan Maxima A35. Follow the connections below carefully and verify all vehicle functions before reinstalling the dashboard trim.
Remove the Factory Head Unit
- Use a plastic trim tool to carefully release the dashboard bezel.
- Remove the mounting screws or bolts securing the factory head unit.
- Gently slide the original unit forward.
- Disconnect the factory plugs and keep them accessible for the new wiring harness.
Connect the Type 3 Vehicle Harness
Type 3 uses a different wiring layout from the other Maxima A35 factory head unit configurations. Match each connector carefully according to the diagram below.
Connects the Android unit to the vehicle's main power and supported factory wiring.
Connects the factory climate-control system so supported AC information and controls can communicate with the Android unit.
Enables supported vehicle communication including steering-wheel controls and vehicle data.
Used for Android audio routing on configurations that require the vehicle's factory AUX audio path.
Provides the reverse signal used to activate the backup-camera display when the vehicle is shifted into reverse.
Connect when required by the Type 3 configuration for supported illumination or key-signal functions.
Connect the Android Head Unit
Connect the required ports on the rear of the Android unit before switching the system on.

Troubleshooting Checklist
If a function does not work during the first test, check the related wiring connection before changing software settings.
Check the required AUX/audio connection and confirm all audio harness connectors are fully seated.
Recheck the climate-control harness and CANBUS decoder connection.
Confirm the CAN plug is connected correctly and verify the selected Maxima A35 vehicle protocol.
Check the main power harness, ACC connection where applicable, and the related vehicle fuse.
Check the rearview camera input and the Type 3 reverse-trigger connection.
Check the illumination/key wire connection where required by the vehicle configuration.
Reposition the antennas away from metal shielding and high-power electrical components.
