Complete Dashboard Disassembly, Wire Harness Mapping & Reverse Camera Installation Tutorial
Before unbolting the center stack, physically disconnect the OEM HandsFreeLink (HFL) Bluetooth module in the overhead map light console. Defective factory HFL units cause severe parasitic battery drain. The Roadnavier screen features built-in Bluetooth 5.0, making the stock module obsolete.

📅 2004–2006 Models Notes
Use the 5-pin + 14-pin adapter connections. Ensure the factory AC controller connector is securely plugged into the matching CANBus pass-through socket.
📅 2007–2008 Type-S / Base Notes
The factory Blue Plug may require a tiny plastic alignment tab notch shaved off using a razor blade for a snug latch. Do not force the plug.
Step 3: Aftermarket Backup Camera Wiring
-
Video Signal: Connect yellow RCA cable to
CAM-IN. - Camera Power ① (Red Wire): Splice to the positive (+) 12V reverse tail light wire in the trunk.
- Ground Cable ② (Black Wire): Connect to a solid metal ground bolt inside the trunk.
- Reverse Trigger Wire ③ (Red Wire): Splice directly into Pin #3 (BACK) on the main 16-pin head unit power connector.
Step 4: CAN-Bus Protocol Settings (AC & Steering Wheel Controls)
While Roadnavier screens are pre-configured before shipping, a factory reset or power interruption might clear the CAN-Bus memory. If your climate control touches or steering wheel buttons do not work after installation, simply re-select the correct protocol in the factory settings. The factory settings password is 3368.
