360° Camera Calibration Guide

Easy Surround View Stitching Setup

Installing a 360° surround view camera system is exciting — but getting the stitching right can be surprisingly tricky.

Many users finish installing all four cameras, power everything on, and then realize the bird’s-eye view doesn’t look correct. The vehicle may appear distorted, parking lines don’t align, or the stitched image has visible gaps and overlaps.

The good news is: in most cases, this is not a hardware issue.

Accurate 360° stitching depends on three things:

  • Correct calibration mat placement
  • Proper camera angle adjustment
  • Selecting the correct lens parameters

In this guide, we’ll show you how to complete the 360° surround view calibration step by step and achieve a clean, factory-style panoramic image.

Step 1

Prepare the Calibration Mats

Prepare one complete set of calibration mats and choose the corresponding stitching layout inside the system.

Our system supports 5 different calibration layouts. In this tutorial, we will use Layout No.3 as an example.

Tip: Make sure the selected layout matches your actual calibration mat arrangement.
Step 2

Place the Calibration Mats Correctly

Position the calibration mats around the vehicle.

Important requirements:

  • Both calibration mats must remain perfectly parallel.
  • Ensure equal spacing on both sides.
  • Use a measuring tape if necessary.

Incorrect placement may cause image distortion after stitching.

Step 3

Enter Surround View Settings

Open the 360° Surround View interface.

Go to: Settings → Calibration

This will open the adjustment screen.

Enter 360 Surround View Calibration Settings
Step 4

Open Stitching Parameters

Navigate to: Parameter Management → Stitching

This section controls image alignment and camera mapping.

Step 5

Select the Correct Calibration Layout (4m × 4m)

Choose the matching calibration template.

For manual stitching, select the layout corresponding to your calibration mat setup.

Using the wrong template can result in poor image alignment.

Step 6

Adjust Camera Angles

Before starting calibration:

  • Make sure front and rear calibration mats are fully visible.
  • Adjust left and right camera images until lines appear parallel.
  • Dedicated vehicle-specific cameras usually do not require angle correction.

Take your time during this step — proper angle adjustment has the biggest impact on final stitching quality.

Step 7

Enter Stitching Parameters

Fill in:

  • Vehicle length (actual measurement)
  • Lens type: 1005_2053_1080P

Leave other values unchanged.

Then press: Start Stitching

The system will automatically generate the panoramic surround view.

Enter Lens Parameters 1005_2053_1080P and Start Stitching

Final Result

Once calibration is completed correctly, your 360° surround view should display:

  • Smooth image transition
  • Accurate vehicle position
  • Better parking assistance
  • Factory-style bird’s-eye perspective

If your image still looks distorted after calibration, recheck camera angles and calibration mat placement before changing other parameters.
