Ford Mustang 2015–2023 Android Head Unit Installation Guide
Step-by-step dashboard removal and wiring guide for the Roadnavier 11.5" Android head unit for Ford Mustang 2015–2023.
Do not connect or disconnect any cables while the system is powered on. Power off the vehicle before removing the factory system or connecting the new head unit.
Tools Required
- Plastic trim removal tool
- Phillips screwdriver / T20 screwdriver
Dashboard Removal & Wiring
Follow the numbered steps below to remove the factory center panel, access the OEM display and radio, and connect the vehicle-specific wiring harness.
SYNC 1 / SYNC 2 / SYNC 3 Wiring
This system supports Mustang configurations equipped with SYNC 1, SYNC 2 or SYNC 3.
The supplied harness includes different connections for the factory SYNC configuration. Identify your original system before connecting the corresponding harness.
Main Wiring Connections
- Power Adapter — connects to the factory power connection
- Amplifier Plug — connect where applicable to the original vehicle configuration
- Rearview Plug — connects the supported factory rear camera
- Android Head Unit Plug — connects the vehicle harness to the new head unit
- CANBUS Module — communicates with supported factory vehicle functions
Before Powering On
Check that every connector is fully seated and that no plugs have been forced into the wrong socket. Do not reinstall all dashboard trim until the system has been tested.
Test Before Reassembly
After installation, turn on the vehicle and verify the system before reinstalling the dashboard panels.
Installation Complete
Once all functions have been tested successfully, reinstall the dashboard panels in reverse order and confirm that all trim pieces are securely seated.
