Nissan Maxima A35 Android Head Unit Installation

Follow the steps below to remove the factory head unit, connect the vehicle-specific wiring harness, connect the Android unit and test all major functions before final dashboard assembly.

Remove the Factory Head Unit

  • Use a plastic trim tool to carefully release the center dashboard bezel.
  • Remove the screws securing the factory head unit.
  • Gently pull the original unit forward.
  • Disconnect the factory connectors before removing the unit completely.

Connect the Vehicle-Specific Harness

Match the supplied connectors to the original vehicle plugs as shown in the wiring diagram.

Main Power Harness

Connects the Android unit to the vehicle's main power and supported audio wiring.

AC / Climate Cable

Connects the climate-control system so supported AC information can communicate with the Android screen.

CAN / Protocol Plug

Enables communication with supported vehicle functions such as steering-wheel controls and vehicle data.

AUX Audio Connection

Used for Android audio routing on vehicle configurations that require the factory AUX audio path.

Important: Make sure each connector is fully seated before powering on the unit. Do not force plugs that do not match the corresponding factory connector.

Connect the Android Head Unit

Connect the required ports on the rear of the Android unit before powering on the system.

  • Main Power Harness
  • GPS Antenna
  • 4G / LTE Antenna — if equipped
  • Wi-Fi Antenna — if included
  • Rearview Camera Input
  • CANBUS Decoder
  • RCA Inputs / Outputs — as required
  • USB Cables
  • External Microphone — if included
  • AUX Audio Line — when required

Test before reassembly. Do not reinstall all dashboard trim immediately. Power on the unit first and verify audio, climate information, steering-wheel controls and camera operation.

Troubleshooting Checklist

If a function does not work during the first test, check the related connection before changing software settings or reinstalling the dashboard.

No Sound

Check the required AUX/audio connection and confirm all audio harness connectors are fully seated.

AC Information Not Displaying

Recheck the climate-control harness and CANBUS connection.

Steering Wheel Controls Not Working

Confirm the CANBUS decoder is connected correctly and verify the selected vehicle protocol.

Black Screen / No Power

Check the main power harness, connector locking position and related vehicle fuse.

No Reverse Camera

Verify the camera input and required reverse-trigger connection.

Weak GPS / 4G Signal

Reposition the antennas away from metal shielding and high-power electrical components.
