Step 1 — Remove the Factory Head Unit

Use a plastic trim tool to carefully open the dash bezel.

Unscrew the factory screws and slide out the head unit.

Disconnect all plugs from the factory harness.
Step 2 — Connect to the Factory Harness
Type 2 uses a slightly different harness layout. Match each connector according to the diagram:

Main Power Harness → connects to the car’s power and speaker wires.

AC/Climate Control Cable → keeps A/C display and control buttons working.
-
CAN/Protocol Plug → required for steering wheel controls and data communication.
-
AUX Cable → routes sound into the Bose amplifier.
-
Reverse Trigger Wire → connects to the car’s reverse light for backup camera activation.
👉 Double-check all plugs click firmly into place.
Step 3 — Plug All Cables into the Android Head Unit
Connect every required port before powering on:

Main Power Harness

GPS Antenna (place near windshield/A-pillar)

4G/LTE Antenna (if supported)

Wi-Fi Antenna (if external)

Rearview Camera Jack (video input)

CANBUS Decoder & CAN Jack

RCA IN/OUT (front/rear camera, subwoofer, external amp)

USB Cables (CarPlay, flash drive, DVR)

External Microphone (run along A-pillar toward driver)

AUX Line to Bose Amplifier
⚡ Tip: Do not reassemble the dash until you confirm the system boots and all functions work.
Step 4 — Troubleshooting Checklist

No Sound? Ensure AUX cable and Bose amp line are connected.

AC Not Responding? Recheck AC panel cable and CANBUS decoder.

Steering Wheel Controls Dead? Confirm CAN plug is inserted and correct Maxima protocol is set.

Unit Not Powering On? Check main harness and fuse.

Reverse Camera Not Displaying? Confirm rearview jack and trigger wire.
-
Weak GPS/4G? Relocate antennas to avoid metal obstruction.
