Step 1 — Check CAN Protocol Version

  • Go to Car Settings → About Device.

  • Confirm that CAN Protocol Version is recognized (not “Unknown”).

Step 2 — Check CANBUS Jack

  • Ensure the CANBUS jack is fully inserted and secured.

Step 3 — Adjust Car Model in Factory Settings

  • Path: Car setting → Factory setting → Password 3368 → Original Car Agreement → Car Model.

  • Select the correct car model as this guide: XC/infiniti/JX35 or QX60

  • After selection, reset the unit using the RST hole and retest.

Step 4 — Still Not Working?

  • Record a short video of how the OEM A/C behaves on the screen.

  • Take a photo of the backside of the OEM head unit for verification.

3. Radio Reception Is Weak

  • Make sure the antenna adapter is connected firmly.

  • If needed, use an external antenna booster.

4. Steering Wheel Buttons Not Working

  • Verify that CANBUS settings match your trim level.

  • Re-calibrate steering wheel buttons in system settings.

Quick Note

Most issues are caused by:

  • Incorrect harness connection

  • Loose CANBUS plug

  • Wrong car model selection in factory settings

✅ Once everything is properly matched, your Maxima is fully compatible and all features will work smoothly.
