The Android screen works alongside the original BMW system rather than simply replacing its functions. You can switch between the Android interface and the factory BMW interface when needed.

A much larger modern display replaces the dated factory screen while maintaining access to the original BMW system.
4. How Is the Screen Installed?
Installation requires removing the factory display surround, center control panels and CD head unit to access the original BMW connections.
The photos below show the actual disassembly sequence.
Installation overview:
- Remove the factory display frame screws.
- Remove the factory display frame.
- Remove the center control panels and trim.
- Remove the CD head unit mounting screws.
- Pull out the factory CD head unit to access the wiring.
5. How Does the CIC / LVDS Wiring Connect?
The supplied vehicle-specific harness connects to the original BMW wiring. The factory LVDS connection is routed through the supplied interface as shown below.
Important: Switch off vehicle power before connecting or disconnecting electrical connectors. Do not plug or unplug the harness while powered.
6. Is Professional Installation Required?
The system uses vehicle-specific connectors and does not require routine wire splicing. However, installation involves removing dashboard trim and accessing the factory head unit.
DIY installation is possible for owners who are comfortable removing interior trim. Otherwise, we recommend installation by an experienced car audio or BMW retrofit installer.
