Roadnavier® Installation Masterclass
How to Install an Android Screen in Acura MDX (2007–2013): Step-by-Step Guide
The Roadnavier® 12.3-inch Android 14 head unit is explicitly engineered to interface with the Acura MDX YD2 (2007–2013) factory navigation dashboard, preserving OEM ELS Surround Sound audio, climate control status, and central knob protocols.
Roadnavier® 12.3" Android 14 Infotainment System
Transform your 2007–2013 Acura MDX cockpit with Wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, HD Touchscreen, and native ELS audio retaining protocols.
- Processor: Qualcomm Octa-Core / Android 14 OS
- Storage Options: 64GB Standard / 128GB High-Performance Tier
- Audio Protocol: Transfers via OEM AUX to retain full ELS amp power
Step 1: Workspace Safety & Battery Disconnection
✅ Safety First Checklist:
- Park on a level surface and set the parking brake firmly.
- Disconnect the negative (-) terminal of your battery to prevent CANbus electrical shorts.
- Protect your shift knob with a microfiber towel to avoid dash trim scratches during panel removal.
Step 2: Disassemble Factory Head Unit & Trim Panels
- Use a non-marring plastic trim pry tool to gently detach the center console side trim strips on both driver and passenger sides.
- Remove the 8mm retaining bolts securing the OEM screen and factory radio/CD player assembly.
- Gently pull the factory head unit forward to access the rear wiring harness sockets.
Step 3: Harness Connection & Wiring Guide
For a comprehensive pinout breakdown of 2007–2009 (20-Pin) vs. 2010–2013 (28-Pin) connectors, review our guide to Check Acura MDX Compatibility.
🔧 Plug-and-Play Integration
Connect factory harness plugs directly into the custom Roadnavier® T-harness. Full ELS amplifier signal output is maintained without cutting factory wires.
⚙️ CANbus Decoder Module
Latch the black CANbus box firmly to preserve steering wheel volume controls, climate status popups, and central control knob interaction.
⚠️ Harness Connector Note: On certain trims, Plug #4 on the main harness serves high-spec navigation setups. If your factory harness lacks a matching plug, leave Plug #4 on standby.
Step 4: Mount the 12.3" HD Display Assembly
- Route GPS antenna, 4G LTE antenna, USB cables, and main RCA harness cleanly into the dashboard cavity.
- Align the 12.3-inch screen mounting base with original factory dash screw points and tighten securely.
- Re-align the side dash trim panels and press firmly until all clips snap back into position.
Step 5: System Boot Test & Backup Camera Link
