The 2013–2018 Acura RDX was sold with several dashboard/display configurations. Do not judge compatibility only by model year or trim name. Some versions install normally, some have limited OEM-function retention, and dual-screen versions are not supported. Compare your dashboard and contact us if unsure.

Base / standard-audio layouts, including vehicles with a small upper information display, require special attention. The Android unit can be installed, but the original upper display may stop working and some OEM functions may not be retained.

Your RDX has two separate screens — a larger upper display (SXM/navigation info) AND a lower touchscreen (audio source, climate, music controls). This is the Technology Package dual-screen system (2016–2018). The wiring and mounting are completely different. This product will NOT fit.
⚠ Compatibility Depends on Original Display
  • 2013–2018 Acura RDX — Base / Standard Audio: installation may be possible, but vehicles with a small upper display can have limited OEM-function retention. Contact us before ordering.
  • 2013–2018 Acura RDX — Single-Screen OEM Systems: must be confirmed by dashboard photo / original system before ordering.
  • AcuraWatch-equipped vehicles without the dual-screen system: verify before ordering.

Two-screen systems are not compatible. One-screen or Base configurations still require verification because OEM-function retention differs by original display and wiring. Please send a clear dashboard photo before ordering.

⚠ Important — Base / Small Upper Display

On some Base-trim RDX vehicles with a small factory upper display, the Android screen can be installed, but the original upper display may stop working.

For this configuration, steering-wheel controls and factory audio can be retained, while the factory rear-view camera is not retained, climate information is shown on the new Android screen, and original vehicle settings may not be retained.

A relay method to keep the upper display powered has been shared by a customer, but Roadnavier has not tested or officially validated this workaround. It may also cause the upper display to remain powered when the vehicle is turned off.

Q How do I quickly know if my RDX is compatible?
Start with the dashboard layout:

For Base vehicles with a small upper display, the Android unit can be installed, but the original upper display may stop working and some OEM functions may not be retained.
Q Will this fit my 2015 or 2016 RDX?
It depends on the original dashboard and audio/display system, not only the model year. Dual-screen vehicles are not supported. Base and single-screen vehicles must be verified before ordering because retained OEM functions vary by configuration.
Q Do my steering wheel buttons still work?
Steering-wheel controls and factory audio are supported on confirmed configurations. The factory rear-view camera is not retained on the Base/small-display configuration discussed here. Climate information is shown on the new Android screen rather than the original upper display, and original vehicle settings may not be retained.
Q How difficult is the installation?
The Android unit normally installs without cutting the factory wiring. However, some Base / small-upper-display vehicles may require additional work if you want to keep the original upper display powered. Q What navigation apps are supported?
Google Maps, Waze, and offline map apps are all supported out of the box via the Android 13 system.
Q Which memory option should I choose?
We recommend choosing at least 4GB+64GB for normal everyday use. If a higher-memory hardware option is available for your selected version, it can provide smoother multitasking and more storage.
Q I'm still not 100% sure — can I check before ordering?
Please do. Send us a clear photo of your dashboard, original upper display and control panel. A VIN can also help identify the vehicle, but compatibility is confirmed primarily from the actual OEM display/audio configuration. We would rather verify it before you order than over-promise compatibility.
